Quality Assurance and Shipping Policies

Ambrosia Imports goes the extra mile to protect the quality of the fine wines it imports and sells.  Wines imported by Ambrosia Imports are transported from the winery cellar door to Ambrosia Imports’ storage location in Carlsbad, California, using only temperature controlled vessels and vehicles known as “Reefers”--- every step of the way.  Once at its storage location, which is licensed for storage by the California Alcoholic Beverage Control Agency, the wines are protected by a state of the art system that provides steady temperature and humidity control, airflow regulation as well as protection from natural, ultraviolet light and vibration.

Wines are delivered by Fedex or UPS.  Standard, cost-only shipping charges are added to your order.  To ensure your order is safe from the elements, shipping date may be delayed in the instance of intemperate weather.

Due to the persistence of antiquated Prohibition-Era laws in certain areas, we are not able to ship to the following states: Alabama, Arkansas, Delaware, Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts, Mississippi, Montana, New Jersey, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Tennessee and Utah.  There are also a handful of other states outside of California with limited restrictions.  Additionally, laws and regulations concerning the shipping of alcoholic beverages are subject to periodic change, and Ambrosia Imports will contact you directly if service to your area is impacted by existing regulations or changes. Shipping wine to P.O. boxes is not permitted. International shipping is not available at this time.

By law, you must be at least 21 years of age to purchase or receive wine.  Delivery drivers are required, without exception, to verify that the recipient is at least 21 years of age.
